We have been sharing updates about the happenings with the Cliffe Castle bees - they are now tucked up for the winter in our Association apiary. The colony will return in Spring 2024, but you can read about this year's progress through the blog.

ABKA is sad to report the recent death of our President, Peter Hewitt who passed away in September 2023 just 18 days before his 100th birthday.

A highly respected beekeeper and excellent speaker, Peter's decades of experience and gentle affection for his bees were much appreciated by ABKA and he will be missed by many of our members.

About local honey
The honey our beekeepers produce in the Aire Valley is 100% local and an entirely natural product. Nothing added and nothing taken away.
Most of the cheaper honey in your local supermarket is sourced in bulk from many countries and blended, so its origin cannot be put on the label. Unfortunately, sometimes it isn't even pure honey. So, buy local where you can, but expect to pay a little more for the good stuff!
