Blog 2 - 14th April 2025

Anthony and I checked the observation hive this morning and found Bee-Yonce and the gang in good shape. She is still laying over 4 frames and was on one of the outer brood frames laying as Anthony and Dave, the museum manager, carried the hive back indoors. Plenty of stores in the combs. The older bees (foragers) are clearly finding the local supplies and returning with massive pollen loads.

Sally Anne from the museum said that they had had more than 800 visitors on Saturday 12 April, when we had ABKA members Emma, Andy, John and Cindy as beekeepers by the hive, as part of the pollinator-themed Easter event.
